About

My name is Alton Ingram, a college student from Boise, Idaho, currently taking up a degree in engineering. Alternatively, I am known either as Al or as Tony, depending on the friend circle, but most of the time I prefer being called by my first name, especially when I feel like being classy.

I am a consummate fan of football and even played for my high school team as a running back, though I eventually found my calling as a civil engineer.  It helped that I was already adept at math.

I balanced academics and athletics reasonably well in my high school years, and half my older friends knew me as the math and statistics geek first and were genuinely shocked that I liked football, let alone playing for the team. Heck, it also blew the team’s minds that I kept spreadsheets of our stats for the past few seasons.

Although I freely admit to missing the thrill of competing, I’ve since moved past those days where I played competitively. Most of the football I play today is just flag football with friends and former teammates on an otherwise lazy weekend. It’s how I avoided the freshman 15.

I am a math nerd and a big softy, which brings us to my other love: alternative rock. There’s nothing I like better to do on a truly lazy weekend, where no one else is there to play, and I need a break from all the number crunching.

Some of the other ways that I keep myself preoccupied include fantasy sports (bring on the spreadsheets), keeping up to date on the latest in sports (football, especially) and fitness, researching new developments in architecture and engineering, and catching up on sketch comedy shows old and new.
